Aha, another misleading title. I'm not gonna talk about love; I'm gonna talk about teasing.
When it comes to teasing, I like to follow the following unspoken rules:
1. Only tease friends, not strangers.
2. Tease only in jest, not to bully,offend, or get revenge.
3. Know when to stop. If the person isn't laughing along, stop. If the person seems uncomfortable, stop. If the person demands that you stop, stop.
4. Just because someone teases himself doesn't mean that it's ok for you to tease him too. It's easier to hear bad stuff from yourself than from other people.
I like to think of the above rules as universal. Everyone should follow them in order to keep teasing as a playful sign of love instead of a negative, hurtful experience.
